Correctly Label Obama First, Then Attack

We conservatives are mocked and ridiculed these days due to inaccurate portrayals of who Barack Obama is.  I believe we have ignorantly labeled him as a Communist, a Nazi, a Socialist, a closet Muslim, a flaming liberal, etc..  Who is Barack Obama?  What word or words truly describe him?  Before we can answer these questions, we must examine what he has done, whom has he attempted to help, and where will the money be flowing.

Militarily, he waited a long time and overanalyzed the decision to send more troops to Afghanistan and the violence in Iraq has increased a bit during his first 14 months as President, but all that shows is that he is a little gun shy and quite inexperienced.  It also shows political astuteness because his agenda is domestic and it is better to keep the military happy to prevent distractions.

Socially, he is attempting to eliminate Don't Ask Don't Tell, but not exactly on a crusade to do so.  This appears to be nothing more than being able to cross the "making the homosexuals happy" off his political to do list.

Economically, however, is where his true colors shine.  He has pushed for the government takeover of parts of the auto industry.  He has vilified bank executives and insurance companies.    He is shoving health care reform down the American's throats, but makes exceptions for cadillac plans given to union employees.  He has made moves such as appointing SEIU President Andy Stern to the deficit reduction panel.  It appears economically that he is big-labor focused.

So, who is Barack Obama?  He is pro-Big Labor, but he isn't a Communist.  Why, because union bosses know there is more money to be made milking this system than a Communist one.  He is pushing what will turn into socialized medicine, but he isn't a Socialist.  Socialist infers social justice, and there are too many people who will intentionally be left out in the cold under his plans.  Obama is anything but a Nationalist, so a Nationalist-Socialist (Nazi) is absolutely wrong.  He hasn't shown anything that is pro-Islam or any other religion really.  His moves militarily and socially don't really show him as a flaming liberal; even the ACLU is comparing him to former President George W. Bush.

So, I ask again, who is Barack Obama?  Follow the money.  President Obama's health care reforms are designed to protect big labor, but bankrupt the healthcare industry.  It will force the U.S. Government to intervene and provide a National Healthcare System.  The question is why?  It has been proven time and time again that these systems don't work.  With the United States protecting the world, it is an even greater financial impossibility it will work here.  So, besides the farce of getting 30 million more people insured (most of whom are those who can currently afford it but don't buy it but will be forced to under the current proposed plan) why would anyone want to go down this road?  In other words, who stands to make a lot of money?  Well, we know that if we go to a single payer system we can't afford, care will be rationed.  The number of doctors that will leave the profession only exacerbates this.  Therefore, there will be long waiting lists to get procedures done.  However, we are Americans and we aren't going to be told we can't get a procedure done when we can afford to get it done, even at a premium.  Now, who has a long history of providing goods and services at a premium when they are in demand in a shortage?  That's right, the mob!  Forget cocaine!  Performing black market triple-bypasses is where the money's at!

So, who is Barack Obama?  He is a political opportunist who is a puppet of union bosses and the mob.  Who would have thought that a Chicago politician with no experience, an unverifiable background, and still somehow rose to be President of the United States could be a puppet of union bosses and the mob?

Is Sarah Palin the Right Choice?

There is a great debate within the Republican Party regarding Sarah Palin.  Many believe she should be the Presidential nominee in 2012.  Many others believe she would be an absolute disaster.  Many believes she is the face of conservatism.  Many others believe she is the face of all that is wrong with the Republican Party.  The question is, can she win?

What will it take to win the Presidency in 2012?  It will take popularity; Sarah Palin has this covered.  It will take a strong conservative to provide the public with a different option than a typical liberal Democrat and a fiscally irresponsible Republican; Sarah Palin has this covered as well.  It will take an effective speaker to articulate her positions and to reveal the failures of the current administration; Sarah Palin excels here.  It will take a fiscally responsible candidate that the public can trust with their money; Sarah Palin does not have the trust of the American public due to her short time in office, her disastrous interviews with Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, and her recent resignation.  As conservatives will pretty much always vote Republican and Liberals will pretty much always vote Democrat the only ground that can truly be gained and measured is by selling conservatism to the independents and more importantly the uninformed, the uninterested, and the uninvolved.  This is where Sarah Palin runs into trouble.  She seems to know what the right answers are to excite the base, but can she sell conservatism to independents and those new to the political process?  If the Republicans can't win over the new voter bloc in 2012, they have no hope of winning.

Therefore, it would be a mistake for Sarah Palin to be the Republican Presidential candidate in 2012.  She has received the knocks of being too divisive, damaged goods, and yesterday's news, but an inability to sell conservatism would not only destroy any chances of taking back the White House in 2012,  it would severely damage the overall conservative movement, as well.

Call for Republicans to Get Back to Basics

How can the Republican Party remain so clueless as to how to move forward?  It has been over a year since the 2008 election and three years since the 2006 mid-term elections and the Republican Party still hasn't found its voice.  They haven't found their voice because they haven't decided on who they are.  The Republican Party is more focused on Republicans winning seats than they are winning the battle of ideas.  They are seeking power rather than seeking to improve this country by restoring conservative principles.  Liberalism has run amuck, but is now a wounded duck.  However, instead of exposing the fallacies of liberalism and advancing the proven track record of true conservatism, Republicans are either moving to the left or are running on an anybody but Obama platform.  This isn't about winning elections.  This isn't even about winning the battle of ideas.  This is about the future of America who's only hope is the end of Obamunism and the resurrection of Reaganism!

Has the Republican Party not realized that more government spending and more government intervention with less military strength and lower moral standards have been catastrophic to this nation, its economy, its reputation, and its morale?  There is fear that the greatness of the United States is disappearing and those in power don't seem to care.  There is fear that the current economic situation is actually the new normal.  There is far less national pride in this country.  Freedoms are eroding in this country quicker than ever before.  Americans deserve better!  Soon, Americans will demand better!  The question is:  will the Republicans offer an option that actually is better?

A quick refresher course:

The more involved the government is in the economy, the more the government can and will destroy the economy.  Taxes destroy the economy.  Uncontrolled spending causes monetary collapses and extreme macroeconomic forces that even the most nimble companies can't overcome.  The current administration and congress are running this nation's economy, and the world's confidence in it, straight into the ground.  Conservatism dictates that dropping taxes, as opposed to unfunded and mis-distributed stimulus packages, causes economic growth.  Common sense dictates spending within one's means is the best way to maintain economic and monetary stability.  Message to Republicans: - It's ok to be for less taxes, not more, and less spending, not more.  It may not be popular, but it is what works.

Machiavelli, in his work The Prince, stated it is best to be loved and respected, but if one must choose between the two, respected is preferable.  It was said of President Bush that he caused the rest of the world to hate America.  However, President Obama is causing the rest of the world to see America as one giant joke.  America no longer has any foreign affairs principles that can be counted on anymore.  President Obama's hesitation to do what is necessary to bring victory to Afghanistan, a conclusion to the Iraq War, or an end to Iran's nuclear ambitions is showing the world that the United States is afraid to use its military might.  Remember this old phrase from Teddy Roosevelt "Speak softly, but carry a big stick."?  How can the United States protect herself, her allies, and her interests if she is viewed as unwilling to use her military?  Many wars have been prevented just by the fact that the United States had the best military in the world and wasn't afraid to use it.  Message to Republicans - It's ok to be proud of the military might of the United States and be willing to use it.  Our strength and resolve did many a problem solve.

People disagree on social issues; it is a fact of life.  However, all people can't stand lacks of principles and moral compasses.  How many votes has betraying the Republican platform on issues such marriage, sanctity of human life inside and outside the womb, equality, immigration, bearing arms, and freedom of religion, speech, and assembly provided the Party?  Those who are unwilling to take a stance on these issues cannot be trusted to take a correct stance on any issue or make the right decisions during any emergency.  The Democrats get votes, not because the country is moving to the left on social issues, but rather because they are consistent.  Message to Republicans:  It's ok to say that there is no other point in time, other than conception, where an organism goes from not having human rights to having human rights.  It's ok to say that men and women are different and hence a covenant relationship between the two cannot be equated to any other type of relationship.  It's ok to be against amnesty for those who came into this country illegally.  It is ok for a citizen to own and be in possession of what the second amendment says the citizen can.  It's ok to say "Merry Christmas" without fear of the government knocking on your door.  People may disagree with you, but at least they can trust you.

Republicans must get back to their core principles in order to win and save America from those tearing it down from the White House and the Capitol Building.  America deserves better!
